As an editor, writer, and teacher, Laura Baumgarten has always been fascinated with the underlying structures of story. When plot, character, and theme naturally propel each other, some of the most resonant stories are born. Baumgarten taught English for five years before turning to developmental editing. She now helps authors drive their themes home with tighter plots and character arcs, and weaves her own stories. She has edited several novels, including the starred-reviewed Cece Rios and the Desert of Souls by Kaela Rivera. When Baumgarten is not immersed in her own or a client’s book, you can find her dissecting the world with her circuit-building husband and learning awe from her children.
